It was a privilege to MC the Birkenhead ANZAC Day Service, and it was heartening to see the large number of the community who gathered to pay their respects.
Thankyou to everyone involved in the services at Birkenhead, Northcote Point and Glenfield, including our former and current service men and women; the Birkenhead RSA; parade marshalls; students from our local colleges, intermediates and primary schools; the bands and singers at each event; officiating Ministers; scouts and girl guides; the Kaipātiki Community Facilities Trust, Kaipātiki Rotary, Auckland Council Civic Events team; and anyone else that I’ve missed.
Our Kaipātiki Local Board team MCd and attended all three services, and after finishing at Birkenhead, I was able to attend the Glenfield service and then visited the Birkenhead RSA.
