Thankyou to all of our park volunteers who toil away setting and checking rat, mouse and possum traps in our parks.

Recently I attended the Pest Free Kaipātiki Chew Card Campaign 2025 results evening. Each year since 2017, plastic cards filled with peanut butter have been placed in 44 parks along 92 monitoring lines. The different animals leave different bite marks. The cards are collected and assessed to give an indication on the level of pests in the parks.
